For the benefit of our Atlanta patients with a wide range of cosmetic skin concerns, we offer innovative, minimally invasive microneedling treatments. The process of using tiny needles to perforate surface skin promotes deep renewal and rejuvenation, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, repairing scars, and making skin firmer and stronger.

What is microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as skin needling, is a minimally invasive in-office treatment to promote your skin’s ability to heal and renew itself. We use the advanced Eclipse MicroPen microneedling device, which has precisely spaced microneedles in a sterile, disposable tip. These create thousands of invisible and virtually painless perforations to the skin.
In response to the tiny “micro injuries” in the skin, the body increases the production of new collagen and elastin, and releases growth factors that promote scar repair and healing.
This benefits the skin in a variety of ways, including:
- Texture becomes smoother.
- Firmness and elasticity are increased.
- Fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced.
- Pores become less noticeable.
Am I a good candidate?
Microneedling is an excellent treatment for smoothing the skin and can be used for acne scarring, anti-aging, and other skin surface irregularities.
We are also happy to recommend additional or alternative treatments that meet your skin care goals, including BOTOX® Cosmetic or filler injections, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion.
What can I expect?
The procedure involves the application of a topical anesthetic, typically requiring 45 minutes to 1 hour to prepare the skin. The actual microneedling procedure takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. Growth factors are then applied to the skin that penetrate through the microperforations and assist with wound healing, followed by a calming serum. Makeup can be applied 4 hours after the procedure.
For the best results, we recommend a total of 4 to 6 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart. Booster treatments can be done once or twice a year to maintain your results.
How will I look?
Recovery is minimal. The skin will be mildly irritated the first night after the procedure, but it generally improves the following day. Redness of the skin will continue for 2 to 3 days, although it is easily covered with makeup so no time away from work is required.
Because it takes time for the skin to repair itself and build collagen after each treatment, optimal results will not become noticeable until a few weeks after treatment. The improvement is gradual but very long-lasting because your own body’s collagen and elastin are stimulated to form, resulting in smoother, more supple skin.
