Vein Treatment Options
We use Vbeam® and KTP lasers to eliminate dilated blood vessels and noticeable veins on the face, and small spider veins on the legs. The intense, focused bursts of light destroy the blood vessel without damage to surrounding tissue. Treatment is gentle and non-invasive.
IPL and BBL therapies, though not technically lasers, work in a similar manner to eradicate unwanted facial veins.
Sclerotherapy is not a new procedure. It has been used to treat varicose veins for more than 150 years and it is still the best option for treatment of leg veins. In this non-surgical approach, a sclerosing solution is injected into the unwanted vein. The solution creates slight irritation inside the blood vessel causing it to shut down. Over the course of several weeks, the body absorbs the obsolete vein, and it disappears.
What Can I Expect?
Usually up to 3 treatments are needed for clearing away most veins. Patients experience only mild discomfort, and occasionally a bit of aching immediately afterward. We recommend wearing medical-grade support stockings while awake for the 72 hours following a sclerotherapy treatment. Patients are advised to avoid high-impact exercise for 72 hours, although walking and low-impact activities are encouraged. There are no other restrictions.
