What Are the Benefits of Getting Chemical Peels?

Chemical Peels

Are you looking for a relaxing, non-invasive treatment that can rejuvenate and renew your skin? Peachtree Dermatology in Atlanta, GA offers chemical peels that can be personalized according to your skin concerns and goals. There are many benefits of getting this treatment, including reduced acne scars and improved skin texture.

What Are the Benefits of Getting Chemical Peels?

Helps Clear Acne

Chemical peels can help clear your acne, especially when topical acne treatments aren’t giving you the results you desire. Peel treatments involve thorough cleansing and exfoliation, which reveals a healthier, fresher layer of skin without stubborn acne. By getting a series of chemical peels customized according to your skin type, you can keep your skin healthy-looking and free of blemishes.

Improves Your Skin Texture

Are you bothered by the appearance of large pores? Getting a peel can remove the topmost damaged layer of your skin. The treatment also helps unclog your pores and minimize their appearance. The result is a smoother skin texture with smaller pores.

Minimizes Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Wrinkles and fine lines can make your skin look less healthy and vibrant. If you are bothered by mild to moderate signs of skin aging, getting a peel is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to keep your skin looking youthful. Peel treatments help soften fine lines and wrinkles by improving the overall quality of your skin.

Improves Your Complexion

Do you wish to achieve brighter, glowing skin that’s free of hyperpigmentation? Peels can minimize sunspots and dark spots, helping you feel more confident in your skin. By getting regular treatments, you can remove the discoloration in your skin in the long term.

Makes Your Skin Firmer

If you want to avoid the downtime associated with laser treatments or a surgical facelift, then getting a peel can be the safest alternative to improving the firmness of your skin. Peels can boost collagen production and trigger your skin’s healing response, giving you firmer, rejuvenated skin without the downtime.

Improves the Absorption of Skincare Products

Peel treatments exfoliate the outermost, dull surface of your skin. The result is a more radiant, supple skin that’s more receptive to topical skincare products. If you love applying serums to your skin, you’ll find that they perform better after you’ve received a peel treatment.

Heals Acne Scars

Peels can gradually fade acne scars for good. The exfoliation caused by the treatment helps renew the surface of your skin and enhance collagen production. Collagen is a protein that supports the structure of your skin, and it can also help heal and fade the scars caused by acne.

What To Expect When Getting Chemical Peels

Chemical peels have become a popular treatment for improving and rejuvenating the skin. And because the treatment can be customized according to your unique needs and goals, we can target your specific skin concerns and blemishes. We can help you choose the right peel based on your skin type, and you can expect a convenient and satisfying treatment experience.

Minimal Preparation Is Required

To ensure that you get the best results from your treatment, you’ll need to prepare your skin and keep it healthy before your appointment. About a week before your treatment, we recommend that you do not wax your skin or undergo laser treatments. Exfoliating treatments such as dermaplaning may be scheduled one to two weeks before your peel. Tanning and direct sun exposure should be avoided or limited as much as possible.

A few days before your treatment, we recommend you stop using exfoliants such as AHA, BHA, or Retinol. You can also keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

It’s a Convenient Treatment

Would you like to take care of your skin without spending the whole day at a spa or clinic? If you have a busy life, non-invasive skin treatments can be perfect for you. Peel treatments can be completed in as little as 30 minutes, so you can get this treatment without blocking off your entire day. There’s no need to change your schedule and set aside time for recovery. You can achieve amazing results almost right away from this powerful yet efficient treatment.

The treatment is also relaxing and comfortable. During your appointment, we will thoroughly cleanse your skin to make sure that it’s free of any oils, products, and dirt that can interfere with the treatment. We may protect your eyes with gauze or protective eyewear. Depending on the type of treatment you’re receiving, we may apply the peel using an applicator or brush. The peel is removed a few minutes after application, and we will soothe your skin using cool compresses or moisturizers.

You’ll Get Almost Instant Results

Are you thinking about getting a skin rejuvenation treatment to prepare for a special event or occasion? With peel treatments, you can expect both short-term and long-term benefits. Almost right after your treatment, you’ll notice smoother, healthier, more radiant skin. You’ll have beautiful skin for any kind of event. And in the next few weeks, your skin’s increased collagen production will give you firmer, tighter skin.

It Can Be Done With Other Treatments

If you want to make the most of your appointment, you can combine your peel treatment with cosmetic injectables such as dermal fillers or Botox. Our injectable treatments can smooth away your wrinkles and fine lines, and add volume to your skin. Meanwhile, your peel treatment will ensure that your skin texture is smooth, hydrated, and more radiant.

Multiple Areas Can Be Targeted

Many people choose to get peel treatments on the face, but the treatment can also be performed in other areas. We can use peel treatments to improve the quality of your skin on your hands, neck, and chest, and other areas that are prone to sun exposure. We can enhance the overall health and appearance of your skin so you can be confident about wearing flattering clothes or revealing outfits.

What Should You Do After Getting a Chemical Peel?

Avoid Touching Your Face

Once your skin has fully healed from your peel treatment, you’ll notice immediate benefits such as improved complexion and skin texture. Still, right after your treatment, you should remember to take good care of your skin.

Not everyone experiences peeling after a treatment, but if you experience any peeling, do not touch or pick at your skin. You can keep your skin hydrated and moisturized by using gentle skincare products.

Moisturize Your Skin

It’s a must to keep your skin healthy and moisturized after your treatment. Our team can recommend skin care products that you can use. Your skin will feel sensitive for a few days because the peel treatment exfoliates the topmost layer of your skin. Therefore, you must avoid using products with ingredients that can cause skin irritation.

Use Sun Protection

Using sunscreen daily is essential for keeping your skin healthy and glowing, and it’s even more important to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays after getting a peel. If you are getting a rejuvenating treatment to minimize the signs of sun damage, then you’ll need to be consistent when it comes to avoiding future skin damage.

If you need to go outdoors, don’t forget to wear a hat to protect your skin from the sun. You should also wear sunscreen daily even when you’re indoors. Light coming from the window can also damage your skin in the long run.

Are Chemical Peels Right for You?

If you are interested in getting a peel treatment to address wrinkles, acne scars, and sun damage, our team can examine your skin and select the best treatment for you. If you prefer non-invasive, convenient treatments that can correct your concerns without pain or downtime, then you may be a good candidate for peel treatments.

During your consultation, our team will ask about your general medical history to determine whether you are eligible for the treatment. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, and have skin diseases or active lesions, we may postpone your treatment or recommend an alternative solution.

Experience the Benefits of a Chemical Peel

Would you like to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars? These are just some of the concerns you can correct with a peel treatment. Our experienced team can recommend the best solutions that can make your skin look healthier, glowing, and more vibrant. To schedule your consultation, contact Peachtree Dermatology in Atlanta, GA to learn more about our peel treatments and how they can improve your appearance.

Finally Felt Heard

I am astonished and happy to report that my visit/visits to this practitioners office has been positive and encouraging She listened, so offered medical evidence and offered a plan of attack to address my problems. Not like the young Dr, I had the displeasure of seeing months before Mrs. Wright. Dr.'s like her are few and far between. I enjoy and have enjoyed the service and the atmosphere there.

My first encounter with Dr. Law was very satisfactory: I consulted her for an annual checkup since my previous dermatologist is now too far from my current location. Dr. Law was very pleasant and thorough; an additiodnal plus was a very short waiting time.
