Dr. Adam Swigost practices medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology in pediatric and adult patients. Originally from Bismarck, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Dakota and holds degrees in biology and political science. Dr. Swigost completed his medical degree at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and received multiple academic awards. Namely, the prestigious North Dakota Scholars Program and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. His studies were highlighted by research endeavors with the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, the latter was given the “Wayne M. Swenson M.D. Award” through the North Dakota Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Swigost left the chilly winters of the Upper Midwest to complete his interdisciplinary medical internship with the University of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida. Then, he made one final cross country move to Washington, DC, where he completed a comprehensive dermatology residency at Georgetown University – which included training with Children’s National Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health.
He served as the resident chair and liaison for the cosmetic curriculum; presented at state, regional, and national conferences; and was twice nominated for the String of Pearls Award for excellence in medical student education.
Dr. Swigost recognizes the integral role the skin plays in both our physical and mental health. He strives to provide his patients with customizable and practical solutions to their skin concerns and believes in an integrated, evidence-based approach. He is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and Gay and Lesbian Dermatology Association.
When not serving his patients in the office, Dr. Swigost can be found running around Atlanta, literally, and exploring new restaurants.
